Women’s football will be coming to EA FC 25 Career Mode, becoming only the second major video game franchise to include a women’s sports career mode option.
The upcoming edition of EA FC will be the first time women’s football gets a fully-fledged career mode in the game, with gamers able to start a manager or player career in one of five major leagues: the WSL, the NWSL, D1 Féminine, Liga F and Frauen-Bundesliga.
The addition of a much-anticipated women’s career mode comes just one year after women were added to EA FC Ultimate Team. Unlike NBA 2K’s WNBA Career Mode, EA FC’s women’s football option is completely integrated into the game, with players able to retire and begin a management career in either the men’s or women’s game.
With women’s football coming to Football Manager soon, the gaming sphere has made incredible strides in gender inclusivity in the last few years. The addition of women to the game has heightened the profile of the sport, introducing new demographics to iconic players of the past and the ballers making waves in the game right now.
Women’s football is finally getting the attention it deserves, in real life and through the console, and we love to see it.
EA FC 25 launches on September 27 and is available to pre-order now.
