adidas and Olympique Lyonnais have released their upcoming home strip ahead of the 23/24 season and it’s nothing but gold standard.

Les Gones’ traditional colours of white, red and blue are embellished with hints of gold as a nod to one of France’s most successful sides, ever.

The new home shirt for 23/24 arrives in a classic white base, with gold detailing in the form of adidas’ iconic Three Stripes found along the shoulders, with the men’s kit also using the gold colouring in the form of their front of shirt sponsor – the Emirates.

The idea behind the shirt’s design is paying tribute to Lyonnais culture, specifically acknowledging the gastronomic heritage of the city; the tricolore collar, which takes up the club’s emblematic colours, is a nod to the chefs who embody Lyon’s gastronomy and pass on their experience and ‘know-how’ to younger generations – transmission of knowledge is also one of the pillars of the club’s academy.

Whilst the gold details and intricate stitching both recall the quality of the training and the club’s constant search for excellence, they’re also additional parallels between chefs of the region and the side’s players.

Set to make its debut for both teams on May 27 – when both squads take on Stade de Reims – the latest drop is already available to purchase online and selected retailers.
