England will pay tribute to one of the country's most important football organisations later this year.

It's been confirmed that England's friendly with Switzerland in September – taking place at Leicester's King Power Stadium – will be dedicated to the game's anti-racism charity Kick It Out, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary.

The match will be the first international game to dedicated to the organisation, which has been working to eradicate racism from English football since it was founded in 1993.

Kick It Out – previously called 'Let's Kick Racism Out of Football' – is funded by the FA, the Professional Footballers' Association, the Premier League and the English Football League.

Speaking on the honour, Kick It Out chairman Lord Herman Ouseley said:

"For us to have a dedicated international as we enter our 25th anniversary season is a clear marker of how far we've come since Kick It Out was founded in 1993.

Our goal is to see all forms of discrimination being challenged at all levels of the game, so to see the England team putting the pursuit of equality and inclusion at the heart of this important friendly is a massive moment."

Following England's success at this summer's World Cup – with a team that has diversity at the core of its identity – this seems like a perfect tribute.
