South Korean luxury eyewear brand Gentle Monster have just linked up with football player Son Heung-min for a new, special-edition eyewear collection.
Two South Korean powerhouses in the worlds of style and football collide for a collaboration that extends the limits of two independent fields, devoted towards Gentle Monster's vision of “weird beauty” through “high-end experimentation”.
Founded in 2011 by Jay Oh and Hankook Kim, Genlte Monster is a luxury eyewear brand based in Seoul operating under a unique philosophy and perspective which has gone on to be worn by the likes of Kanye West and Dua Lipa and collaborated with luxury imprints like Moncler.
The SON 7 x Gentle Monster collection consists of two sunglasses made from acetate and tinted lenses in Gentle Monster’s unique designs, with “GENTLE MONSTER X SON 7” engraved in the temple.
The collection arrives with special package, only available at Haus Dosan, that offers an incense chamber that embodies Son Heung-min’s signature ceremony pose and exclusive eyewear.
Spurs’ Golden Boot-winning forward continues to shine off the pitch, unveiling discerning collaborations in the fashion space after linking up with one of the most forward-facing brands in South East Asia, having recently been unveiled as Burberry's new Global Ambassador shortly after launching his own personal brand created in partnership with Shinsegae.
Speaking about the collab, Son said: “Gentle Monster, an ironic combination, is maybe even a new standard. I can say that Gentle Monster also represents myself, the stadium and daily life.”
