England U21 head coach Aidy Boothroyd has named his squad for the games, and a whole new wave of young ballers have been selected as part of a 23-strong group that will link up for the first time at U21 level.

The Young Lions are gearing up for their U21 EURO qualifying campaign this month, as the road to Hungary and Slovenia in 2021 begins, and the newly-selected squad brings in the next generation of talent into the age category.

Only five players in Phil Foden, Tom Davies, Morgan Gibbs-White, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson have featured in previous U21 set-ups and are young enough to feature again this time around – with Reading midfielder Omar Richards the only player coming into the England set-up for the first time.

There's debut call-ups for 18 Young Lions who are yet to play at this level for England. That comprises of a lot of young hopefuls from the nation's top clubs, with familiar names such as  Mason Greenwood, Joe Willock, Rhian Brewster all featuring in Boothroyd's 23-man squad.
