Ruben Loftus-Cheek has become the latest victim of a tabloid smear campaign after his neighbours complained to the press and his local council that the footballer has been playing "drill rap" too loudly in his house.

The Chelsea player currently lives in a luxury home £1.8 million home in Surrey, where several of his neighbours loudly voiced their complaints in an interview with a tabloid newspaper. One said she has to "scream over the fence to get the volume turned down”.

Moving on from targeting Raheem Sterling, the report, which has the word "GHETTO" put in all-caps, featured a letter written to the local council, with one resident saying, "During summer months we are regularly forced to scream over the fence to get the volume turned down, the music is often offensive in content. This unacceptable noise level alerts us to the decking area/parties taking place on the deck, making it increasingly intrusive."

"On a sunny day, they play deafening drill and rap music from big speakers on the decking and the lyrics are quite offensive. It makes you feel like you’re in a ghetto not leafy Cobham".

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has talked to VERSUS about bumping Drake and Giggs in the past, is yet to comment on the allegations – but we suggest that the the 23-year-old midfielder continue to do as he pleases in his own home.

RLC is currently undergoing rehabilitation after rupturing his Achilles' tendon, where he's likely to make become a key player again under Frank Lampard when he returns from injury in November. The Blues' midfielder recently reportedly agreed a new five-year deal with Chelsea worth £120,000-a-week.
