Kappa have remade and re-released the AS Monaco home shirt from the club’s title winning 1999/00 season.
Back in 2000, AS Monaco were officially crowned champions of France for the seventh time in their history. A season that saw the likes of Marcelo Gallardo, Sabri Lamouchi, David Trezeguet, Marco Simone and Ludovic Giuly all don the classic red and white strip. An unforgettable era of French football, which is exactly why the club's fans have chosen to vote for the shirt's return using fan tokens.
Fan tokens are a specific type of cryptocurrency that fans can purchase which then entitle them to several perks, such as access to exclusive experiences, content and even decisions made by the club. For example, what type of music players walk out to on match day or in this case, the re-release of an iconic kit.
The shirt comes with all the details of the original, down to the sponsor from that season, FEDCOM and features the classic Kappa Banda down both shoulders along with black trim cuffs and collar- details that perfectly accentuate the shirt’s red and white base.
Continuing to keep the fans at the heart of the re-release, AS Monaco have put some of their 'ambassadors' front and centre of the shirt's campaign with the 'Collector's Jersey' now available to purchase via the club's website. Take a closer look at the kit below.
