Venezia FC and Kappa have just dropped off their final piece of one of the standout collections of the season, with their 22/23 third shirt arriving glistening in gold.

With the club's winged lion of Saint Mark being returning to its traditional gold following their Bureau Borsche rebrand, the club have extended that colourway across the entirety of their Third Kit.

Gold has a long-standing prestige in the city, with Venice's gilded churches, monuments, palazzi and use of gold in Venetian art and commerce going back to the Late Medieval and Early Renaissance periods.

Gold shirts are hard to pull off, but when they're done right, they're legendary. Arsenal have some iconic entries in this category, famously clinching the Premier League at Old Trafford in their classy gold away shirt in 2001/02, which they continued wearing with a new crest as their third shirt the following season, and more recently returning to gold in 2015/16.

Barcelona also have an undisputed gold classic from the 2000s, and revisited the look just last month with the release of their 2022/23 away shirt – but with their 22/23 third shirt, Venezia are seeking to emulate that best-in-class status of iconic kits.

Courtesy of Bureau Borsche and Kappa, the kit arrives in a beautiful light gold tone with q subtle shine 5o give the kit a luxurious look and feel. Complemented with black details and a single-button down collar like the club's Home kit, the shirt is completed with black cuffs, the club’s new crest and elegant Città di Venezia city script in total black.

“We knew it was a high-risk, high-reward endeavour,” said Venezia brand director Ted Philipakos, when speaking with one of the most striking shirts of the season. “But we had a clear idea of what we wanted to achieve, combining references from the past with our present vision for the club, and we just put faith in our partners that we would figure it out together. The result is beautiful and we’re proud to have worked with Kappa and Bureau Borsche on the project.”
