Phil Foden became the youngest-ever Champions League goalscorer in the knockout stages last night after he produced another stellar cameo in City's 7-0 Champions League drubbing of Schalke last night.

It was Foden's first goal of many in Europe's elite club competition, where the 18-year-old showed the sort of quick-witted composure that we're starting to expect from the City starlet after Leroy Sane's slick through ball teed him up to round the goalkeeper and make history.

The Young Lion now has six goals in all competitions this season but is still waiting for his first Premier League start for City. Despite this, manager Pep Guardiola has insisted that Foden will remain at the club amid talk about his lack of game time this season, "The people say he doesn't play too much. He is 18 years old and he has played a lot of minutes. The people say he should be on loan; Phil Foden will not be on loan. All the time he is here he will be close to me because he is an incredibly talented player. He is with us. Congratulations [to him], because the minutes he played he did really well."
