adidas and Manchester United just teased a new collaboration with Drama Call, the Manchester-based streetwear brand that’s become one of the most influential in UK culture.

The homegrown nature of the link-up is already being championed in posters that have appeared across 0161, with a lock-up of Drama Call, Man United and adidas labels appearing underneath a ‘Made in Manchester’ headline.

Since its launch in 2017 by founder Charlie Bows, Drama Call hasn’t been shy about going global – from raising bail money for protesters in America to supporting aid efforts in Gaza – but has retained Manchester’s culture and spirit at its core, working with the likes of Aitch and Tunde.

While we don’t have visibility on the collection yet, expect it to be a bold departure from adidas and United’s typical work. A good frame of reference could be the Ajax and Daily Paper collab from 2022, which was arguably the most high-profile example of a global club getting creative with a homegrown brand.

Stay tuned for more details.
