With the Euros well underway in Germany, adidas tapped Frankfurt-based HUNI designer Mona Thomas to recreate the brand’s iconic Beckenbauer track jacket.

The base of the jacket is black, with the pronounced hem and signature high neck and cuffs a contrasting white. The Three Stripes run down the arms in white, with another set of stripes wrapping around the jacket. Heavily padded shoulders change the jacket’s silhouette completely, giving the classic trackie a whole new look. 

The HUNI logo sits opposite the adidas Trefoil on the chest, with the Frankfurt brand’s logo printed again on the right side of the jacket in bright pink. On the back, ‘HUNI WORLDWIDE’ is printed above the number 18 in that same shade of hot pink – a colour combination that makes up the entire collection. 

A matching pair of wide leg trousers complete the look – also reimagined as shorts alongside a short-sleeved version of the jacket. The tracksuit is accompanied by various accessories stamped with HUNI’s signature style, from blacked-out Predators with elongated spikes instead of studs, to a dual-branded duffel bag with a studded bottom. 

The unique take on an adidas Original isn’t available to purchase, but Thomas will be doing a giveaway on her Instagram account for a few lucky followers. Time to turn those post notifications on.
