Nike have just unveiled Atletico Madrid’s new home kit for the 21/22 season, featuring a design that commemorates the 75th anniversary of the club’s current name and first red and white kit design.

Club Atlético de Madrid ran out in the red and white striped design for the first time in 1947, and to commemorate the anniversary, Nike have taken inspiration from that historic kit to celebrate a new era for the club.

Just like the 1947 shirt, the 2021/22 design features a central white stripe alongside a huge letter “A” created by the central red stripes. The stripes of old are revived with a new paint-brushstroke detailing, with the club’s new look completed with Navy blue shorts are then combined with blue and white striped socks.

Just like all of Nike’s replica jerseys for the 2021/22 season, Atletico’s new design is made from 100 percent recycled polyester fabric created from recycled plastic bottles.

The 21/22 Atletico Madrid home kit will be available to Nike Members from nike.com and Atletico Madrid retail channels from July 5 and on full retail from July 12.
