adidas and Wales Bonner are linking up yet again for another reimagining of the iconic football-inspired silhouette, the Samba.
This capsule, due to release later this month, features the British-Jamaican designer's take on the Samba Millennium - a short-lived chunkier version of the iconic sneaker last seen in 2009.
The Wales Bonner MN is coming in two colourways: 'Wonder White' and 'Royal Blue'. The former features a cream toe box and brown heel whilst the latter comprises of a brown upper and uses a lapis pony hair at the rear. Both iterations feature a translucent gum sole, heavy contrast stitching and a front design that seems to take inspiration from the Copa Mundial's radial structure.
Grace Wales Bonner and the Three Stripes have collaborated on 14 versions of the Samba so far, and they don't look like slowing down any time soon. For this release, Wales Bonner is diving even further into the archive, reportedly designing two versions of the adidas SL72 to drop alongside the reimagined Sambas.
The Wales Bonner x adidas Samba MN is set to release on May 20 at adidas.co.uk.
