Joshua Vides is an designer customising creps that look straight out of a comic book.

The artist has recently blown up on social media, where he's been making a splash by transforming sneakers into cartoon-like sketches by painting them white and drawing on them with sharpies.

Vides achieves this effect in the way he draws the contrast between the white base and black sharpie lines, creating the comic book-like illusion in the flesh. Pretty impressive stuff.

Take a look at some of the eye-catching Nike and Vans silhouettes below, and follow him on Instagram.

Nike Air Force 1 low I hand painted a few months back . Finally threw em on today when I realized I could make more . Excited to show you what this initial concept will become over the next few weeks ??‍? #joshuavides

Shoes are sold out . I don’t plan on making more unless they’re produced by a shoe company . The concept looks great on sneakers , but my goal is to showcase this art in a larger way . New items coming to the online store Friday . Stay tuned and welcome to latest addiction ✍? #joshuavides Photo by : @willnichols for @highsnobiety
