adidas and Italy have unveiled a special kit to celebrate the Italian Football Federation’s landmark 125th anniversary, ahead of the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.

To pay tribute to the federation – founded on 26 March 1898 – the Three Stripes make a drop inspired by the national team’s first uniform worn during its inaugural match over a century ago. The kit combines the look of the cotton and loose-fitting jerseys reminiscent of the time, with the feel of adidas’ latest technology.

The jersey comes in a crisp white base with gilded details. The team’s crest is encased in gold, flanked by a golden laurel wreath and the federation’s commemorative anniversary stitched in gold lettering just below.

The shorts come in a matching shade of white, with three gold stripes running down the sides reflecting the brand’s trademark stripes on the shoulders. The federation’s commemorative crest features on the right thigh. The socks are a contrasting shade of black with gold stripes and lettering.

The kit will be sold in limited numbers with only 2023 pieces available to purchase. The full kit arrives in a white box mimicking the details of the uniform, with a postcard featuring the Azzurri’s debut team in 1910.

The kit will be available on June 14 on the adidas website, the FIGC website, and some authorised retailers.
