The Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship are set to kick off this September, and for the first time ever, matches will be available to stream globally on YouTube. 

The switch will see the top two leagues in English women’s football move away from FA Player for non-BBC and Sky Sports fixtures in the WSL and selected Championship ties, making matches easily accessible worldwide.

Match coverage will be available on the WSL and Women’s Championship YouTube channels. Despite the move to the popular website, FA Player will still broadcast the Women’s FA Cup. 

Women’s football in England is growing not only domestically, but internationally as well. With the leagues joining forces with YouTube, the door has just been opened for even more people to get into the sport, clubs and players – especially at Championship level. 

The lower leagues of women’s football don’t often get the coverage they deserve, especially not globally, so this is a major development for the Women’s Championship and growing fanbases in the league. Time to like, comment and subscribe.
