Aston Villa Women have made Villa Park their main stadium for the 2024/25 WSL season, playing all 11 home games in B6.
The women’s team previously played most of their matches at Bescot Stadium in Walsall, which will still host non-WSL fixtures including the FA Cup and Conti Cup. With a big move to Birmingham coming this season, the Villans join a select few women’s teams that will play all their matches at their clubs’ main ground.
Arsenal Women announced earlier this year that eight WSL and three UWCL matches in the 2024/25 campaign would be played at the Emirates, after selling out the North London stadium on multiple occasions over the last few seasons. But it isn't just clubs in the top tier of English women's football who are making the move to main stadiums this season. In National League North, Nottingham Forest Women are moving to City Ground as well.
Women’s football in England has grown tremendously in recent years, with many teams quickly outgrowing their current stadiums as a result of increased interest and attendances. Here’s to more moves and sold-out stadiums across the country.
