Karen Carney is joining Sky Sports for the 21/22 season as lead pundit for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

Former England and Chelsea captain Carney, who notched up 144 caps for the Lionesses, will also be a part of the matchday team for the Premier League amongst a list of new names joining Sky.

The Barclays FA Women's Super League, which comes to Sky Sports for the very first time next month, marks the beginning of a three-year deal between Sky Sports and the FA to become the primary broadcaster of the WSL.

Speaking about the arrival of the WSL on Sky Sports, Carney said: “I’m really excited, I can’t wait. I'm looking forward to it, going to games, getting into the tactics, the shape, the goals. I've really missed it, even with the short time it's been off and I'm really itching to get back into it.”

The exclusive broadcasting deal will see Sky Sports show a minimum of 35 live games per season, as part of their ongoing commitment to women’s sport.
