The PUMA Rider is a beautifully-styled shoe built for movement and to celebrate it hitting the streets, PUMA took to the race track for a high-octane launch that saw some of the country’s most influential voices go pedal to the metal and style out on four wheels.

Taking over London’s TeamSport go-karting track in Docklands, Poet and Harry Pinero hosted street culture’s waviest karting tournament – the PUMA Fast Rider Challenge – with the overall winner landing two tickets to next year’s ComplexCon along with flights and accommodation to the States. Other prizes on the night included a year’s worth of PUMA apparel – surely a dream for any sneakerhead – and a brand new video games console.

Launched last month at ComplexCon, the sick new PUMA Rider 'Ride On' pack sees the legendary Fast Rider sneaker from the 1980s revamped for 2019, along with two new silhouettes: the Fast Rider and the Style Rider. All releases are inspired by a “future meets retro” mantra, which was also represented on the night in Docklands with classic video games there for entertainment right next to the all-new FIFA 20.

While guests took to the track, the likes of Rinse FM’s Jordds and Chennessey provided a fitting uptempo soundtrack alongside DJs including Star. One, Donnie Sunshine and DJ Abstract. In lieu of a traditional pit stop, ‘refuelling’ was provided by Wingstop and Havana Club – making sure the celebration was fit to continue long after the champagne had been popped up on the winner’s podium. Check out the best bits from the high-octane sneaker launch in the photos below.

The PUMA Rider 'Ride On' pack is available to shop at size? from December 6th.
