Umbro linked up with Japanese streetwear label Children of the Discordance for a brand new capsule, and this one is another football x fashion dream.

Umbro’s recent collabs have been setting the tone for footy-inspired streetwear recently, from Slam Jam to Palace. This time, Children of the Discordance took a page straight from the Umbro archives, creating a collection reminiscent of the Manchester brand’s iconic kits and warm-ups of the ‘90s and ‘00s.

The capsule was designed with autumn and winter in mind, arriving in earthy tones of green and brown. Striped and spliced football kits with matching shorts create asymmetric fashion statements, giving the illusion of reworked vintage jerseys.

The club crest that features on jumpers, shorts and kits across the collection is a clear adaptation of Manchester United’s badge, with the ‘Children of the Discordance’ stitched in the same red and yellow as the storied club.

Seeing as United and Umbro’s old partnership brought about some of the most iconic kits to ever grace the game, it was only right they tapped into the Red Devils’ old looks. A black jumper featuring the adapted crest has an oversized Umbro diamond in red stretched across the chest and arms – a reference executed so well, you might have to do a double take if you see it on the street.

The rest of the collection includes caps, a spliced track jacket and matching bottoms.

The capsule is available to purchase now at Children of the Discordance’s stockists, such as fazeone.
