Umbro have just kicked off their latest football-infused collaborative capsule, with the staple football manufacturer linking up with luxury London-based streetwear brand Aries for a wavey new capsule that pulls no punches.

Drawing inspiration from rave and football culture, Umbro’s latest collaborative move sees Aries opt for their favoured palette of heady shapes and vivid colours on throwback pieces from the sportswear brand. The 10-piece collection features a selection of ‘90s-inspired football jerseys in red, pink and blue, a training set and a must-cop Umbro drill top and pants combination.

The collection has been captured in a lookbook shot by photographer Lea Colombo, with each piece captured through a unique lens that sees each piece receive a washed out aesthetic. You can also tune into the accompanying video for the collection above, which captures the vibe of the era through striking visuals and an intense gabba soundtrack.

“Playing amateur football was off limits during lockdown, so we started playing football with our dogs instead,” explains Aries founder Sofia Prantera. “While researching the creative with Lea we found amazing footage of known footballers like Messi training with their dogs. This combined with the beautiful work of Dutch artist Rineke Dijkstra became the inspiration for the project”.
