Umbro has just dropped its new ARP sneaker collection for SS20 and it’s a 90s-inspired drop powered by football’s impact on street culture.

The ARP (Archive Research Project) collection sees a wave of iconic Umbro silhouettes blessed with a refresh, turning throwback classics into certified heat for 2020. The Double Diamond is introducing two new sneakers for the spring/summer season: the sandal-sneaker hybrid Umbro FIERA, and the ultra-clean Umbro HIGHWAY.

The FIERA is Umbro’s most directional silhouette to date. The versatile sneaker drops in an all-black upper with a contrast white cleated sole, or an all-cream version featuring black Velcro straps. The HIGHWAY is an instant classic, with perforated leather upper and suede accents including Umbro’s legendary logo. The HIGHWAY drops in an ice cold all-white, or a black upper with contrast sole unit.

The ARP’s hero styles are also reinvigorated for SS20 with a range of colourway updates. Pastels feature across women’s styles including peaches, lilacs and mauves colour-blocked on the EXERT, BUMPY, NEPTUNE and PHOENIX silhouettes, while earthy terracotta browns and light taupe tones are presented throughout the men’s collection alongside primary brights such as reds and blues.

The ARP sneaker collection also drops with a vibe-heavy Umbro Projects apparel collection that calls upon design cues from the colour and vibrancy of life in Ibiza and Seoul, from the brightness of daytime to the neon glow of clubs at night. Jumpers, jerseys, cargo pants and more are given a makeover that includes tie dye, pastel colours, chevronz and oversized fits.

Umbro is one of the most influential brands of our time and the Double Diamond is reasserting its credentials as a leader in sportswear this summer.
