FC St. Pauli have just revealed their new home kit, which has been designed completely by their own in-house manufacturing company DIIY in an effort to create one of the most sustainable football shirts ever produced.
St. Pauli are widely regarded as one of the most forward-thinking and socially-conscious football teams in Europe, and now their social commitment to fair play is now extending through to their shirt manufacturing.
The shirts are produced by DIIY, the club's new in-house production company, and offer "not only meet the highest performance level, but also "100% sustainability."
The result is the first self-produced unisex team sports line that is ecologically sustainable and socially responsible in every manufacturing step. Promising a "no throw-away products and no fast fashion" approach to the new shirts, St. Pauli's new kits fair wages and good working conditions and work uncompromisingly against child labour and discrimination.

The shirt itself is clean, arriving in the club's traditional brown colourway with a tasteful pinstripe pattern. Another unique element to the shirt is the customisable wording of the sponsor, which you can choose yourself if you pre-order from the DIIY website.
It's an innovative first from a football club doing things differently, and it will be interesting to see how successful the roll-out of this new model of shirt production is in influencing clubs, fans and shirt designs in the future.
