Sam Kerr marked her Chelsea debut with an assist and an all-round stellar display that showcased her world class ability.

Leading the line for Chelsea in her first game for the club, Kerr was slightly rusty when put through on goal in her first game for more than two months. Despite wasting an early opportunity to score her 149th(!) career league goal, Kerr assisted strike partner Beth England with a backheel for the Blues' equaliser.

Kerr then got to the ball first in a chase with Grace Moloney which saw the Reading keeper sent off before Chelsea wrapped up a 3-1 Women's Super League victory against The Royals.

Speaking about why she decided to link up with the Blues, Kerr said, "I've always been attracted to English football and the vibe that's here and, speaking to Emma [Hayes], she seemed like the best fit for me, and doing a little bit of research about the girls and the team, it just seemed right."

"It's freezing here to be honest but I'm enjoying it. The girls are quality and they've really welcomed me so I've settled in as best as I can in nine days.
