Stone Island Shadow Project demonstrates their fabrication finesse with the launch of their Autumn/Winter '19 lookbook.
Fabric and dye technology has been at the core of Stone Island from the brand's conception, setting the Compass' apparel lines apart from the rest of the market in a big way. While the mainline armoury certainly has no shortage of technical outerwear developed with fabrics you'd think have come from the future, Shadow Project takes things ten steps further with an experimental edge that lets the brand's designers shine. Autumn/winter 2019 maintains pace and offers a showcase that is arguably one of the lines strongest deliveries in recent seasons, jam-packed with some seriously exciting outerwear.
The latest collection provides a keen focus on transformable apparel pieces, with zip fastening utilised to create changeable looks. Further utilitarian detailing can be seen within outerwear, where internal straps provide wearers with the options to strap their jacket across their back when not in use. These tactical elements are a mainstay of Shadow Project, with a range of zipped pockets to the chest, and concealed zippers throughout. A strong, wide-reaching colour palette has been adapted for AW19, which bright flurries of green, red, purple, gold and blue providing both a space-age rave feel and heavy contrasts for the more based tones.
